As much as I love receiving presents, I love giving them. The best feeling is when you get the person the perfect gift and they are appreciative. Last Christmas I did a secret santa with a bunch of my friends and I got one of my best friends. Our price limit was pretty high but I made my gift really thoughtful and something I knew she would enjoy. Since Thanksgiving is over and it’s holiday season, I am going to show you creative ways to give a gift. Gift bags and wrapping paper is just not enough anymore!
Gift in a mug (or a jar)
Over the past year or so people have been obsessed with making things in mugs. I’m not really sure why, but mug are great to stuff things in. For my best friend last year, I got her a “M” mug from Anthropologie because her name started with “M” and I stuffed it with a phone case, some mini nail polishes, and a mini eyeshadow palette from Sephora. The mug was only $8 and I ended up getting one for every single person I got a gift for that year.
This was actually my favorite gift I have ever given because 1. My friend always complained how she hated her phone case 2. She loves to bake (sometimes in mugs) and 3. She loves nail polish and makeup!
1 gift a day (Advent Calendar style)
I originally saw someone else do this for their friends birthday month and I thought it was genius. Pretty much, you buy the person a bunch of small items (about 30 to be precise) and make them only open one for each day of the month. You can put in small items such as lip balm, socks, body care/makeup products, etc. The list could go on forever.
I decided I was going to do this this year but I might be a little too late because there are currently only a few days of November remaining. I thought this would be good for my friend who’s birthday is in December, and she also celebrates Christmas.
One of my favorite things what I was little was scavenger hunts. You can make clue cards that lead to different locations whether it’s around your house or even around a city/town. The clues would eventually lead to the gift.
